- former German name: Beuthen an der Oder.
Arms and flag adopted on April 11, 2003 (resolution # IV/36/03).
Arms are: on the vertically divided shield, left part (gold) shows
the Lower Silesian black eagle and the right one - blue shows the silver
(white) fish.
The Coat of Arms reflects the location of the city on the Odra (Oder) River
and historical connection with the Silesian Piast Dynasty.
