Pruchnik - rural commune, Jarosław County, Podkarpackie Voivodship.
Gmina Pruchnik is a rural gmina (commune) in Jarosław County, Subcarpathian
Voivodship, in south-eastern Poland. Its seat is the village of Pruchnik,
which lies approximately 17 kilometres (11 mi) south-west of Jarosław and
39 km (24 mi) east of the regional capital Rzeszów.
Area: 78.26 sq.km (30.2 sq.mi); Population: 9,551 (2006).
land under cultivation - 73%; forests - 19%; A typical agricultural
commune, sparsely forested.
Civic rights achieved in 1370, lost in 1935.
It is a quiet and charming collection of villages with the character
of the old Galician countryside, far from the routes of communication and
the hassle of big cities.
New Arms and the brand new flag adopted on November 14, 2008 (resolution
# 160/XXIV/2008).
"Arms: on the red field three silver bars (from the noble Coat of Arms "Korczak").
Flag: red rectangle in the ratio 5:8 with the Arms (without the shield)
placed centrally."
