- Germna name: Ortelsburg.
Gmina Szczytno is a rural gmina (commune) in Szczytno County, Warmian-Masurian
Voivodship, in northern Poland. Its seat is the town of Szczytno, although
the town is not part of the territory of the commune.
Area: 347.26 sq.km (134.1 sq.mi); Population: 10,454 (2006).
Arms and flag adopted on June 22, 2004 (resolution # XIX/139/04).
"Arms: on a gold shield a beaver in natural color between two green-brown
stalks of common sweet flag (calamus). On the green base of the
shield a golden fish.
Flag: rectangle in the ratio of 5:8 composed of two uneven color bands:
green over yellow.
The Arms are placed centrally on the axis of two bands.
The lower, yellow band is 1/3 of the width of the flag."
