Będzino - rural commune, Koszalin County, Zachodnio-pomorskie Voivodship
- German name: Alt Banzin.
Gmina Będzino is a rural gmina (commune) in Koszalin County, West Pomeranian
Voivodship, in north-western Poland. Its seat is the village of Będzino,
which lies approximately 13 kilometres (8 mi) west of Koszalin and 128
km (80 mi) north-east of the regional capital Szczecin.
Area: 180.92 sq.km (69.9 sq.mi); Population: 9,287 (2006).
The commune is mainly agricultural, although the 5 km wide sea access
and Lake Jamno are spurring the dynamic growth of tourism.
Arms adopted on April 29, 1997 (resolution # XXIX/142/97).
Flag adopted some time later, but the information on it, as well as
the description of both, Arms and flag, were removed and I, foolishly and
naively, failed to save it assuming it would be always available.
