Shield Argent with, in chief a flamy sword Vert balancing scales of the same, in base a chevron wavy Azure charged with a chevronel wavy Argent. Mural crown Argent with three visible towers (village rank) and white scroll with inscription in black initials: "S. MIGUEL DO RIO TORTO".
Meaning:
The arms are canting. Sword and scales are attributes of St. Michael, name giver and patron saint of the commune. The chevron is representing a crooked river (Port.: rio torto).
