It is a fairly typical Portuguese municipal flag, with the coat of arms centred on a field quartered of black and white.

The coat of arms has a light blue field featuring a white eagle armed red over a white castle with three towers. Mural crown Argent with four visible towers (town rank) and white scroll reading "VILA DE AGUIAR DA BEIRA" in black upper case letters.
