It is a typical Portuguese communal flag, with the coat of arms centred on a field quartered of yellow and green.

Coat of arms

Shield Vert with base wavy of Argent and Vert, a pair of keys crossed per saltire - the bendy one Or and the sinister bendy one Argent, tied Argent, in central chief a foul anchor Or. Mural crown Argent with three visible towers (village rank) and white scroll with inscription in black initials "ANGRA - S. PEDRO".
Meaning:
The base wavy is due to the green colour alluding to the Atlantic. The crossed keys are an attribute of St. Peter, name giver and local patron saint of the commune. The anchor is symbolizing shipping or fishing.

São Pedro Commune is one of the 19 communes of the Angra do Heroísmo municipality (q.v.); it had 3460 inhabitants in 2011 and covers 3.9 km².
