It is a typical Portuguese communal flag, with the coat of arms centred on a plain yellow field.

The arms are Vert divided by a bend wavy Argent charged with two bendlets wavy Azure, acorn cob Or in dexter base, a pine Or in sinister chief. Mural crown Argent with three visible towers (village rank) and white scroll reading in black upper case letters "RIBEIRA DE FRÁGUAS".
Meaning:
"ribeira de fráguas" means something like "cliff creek", so these arms are partly canting.

Ribeira de Fráguas Commune is one of the six communes of Albergaria-a-Velha Municipality (q.v.); it had 1713 inhabitants in 2011 and covers 26.8 km².
