The arms are Argent gouttée Vert issuant from a base wavy charged with two barrulets wavy Argent a traditional Port wine barrel cargo Douro river ship (rabelo) Sable garnished Or and dressed Gules carrying three winde barrels Or garnished Sable. Mural crown argent with three visible towers (village rank) (commune rank) and white scroll reading in black upper case letters "COTAS - ALIJÓ".
