Shield Purpure with base wavy of Azure and Argent, issuanr from base a mount Argent, two grapevines Or leaved Argent ordered per fess, in chief a pair of keys crossed in saltire and tied Argent, the bendy one Or, the sinister bendy one Argent. Mural crown Argent with three visible towers (village rank)and white scroll with inscription in black capitals "ALVITO - S. PEDRO".
Meaning:
The pair of keys is an attribute of St. Peter, local patron saint and name giver of the commune.

Shield Or, two grapevines Purpure leaved Vert set in fess, in chief a cross patty Gules charged with a Greek cross Argent, issuant from base a mountain Vert charged with a scallop Or. Mural crown Argent with three visible towers (village rank) and white scroll with inscription in black capitals "COUTO - BARCELOS".
Meaning:
The scallop is an attribute of St. James the Elder, the local patron saint. The cross is alluding to the Order of the Knights of Christ. The grapevines are representing viticulture.
