It is a typical Portuguese communal flag, with the coat of arms centred on a plain white field.

The arms are Gules a harvester's hat Or, in chief two bull's heads Argent garnished Sable, in base a sickle Argent". Mural crown argent with three visible towers (village rank) and white scroll reading in black upper case letters "BALEIZÃO".
Meaning:
This village is noted for local farmhand Catarina Eufémia, shot by regime police during a peasant's upheaval in 1954, hat and the sickle on the arms may refer to this.

Baleizão Commune is one of the 12 communes of Beja Municipality (q.v.); it had 1056 inhabitants in 2001 and covers 138,25 km².
