The arms are Vert a rowing boat Argent garnished Sable and in chief a grind wheel Argent between two mill wheels and on a diminute base wavy Argent a fess Azure wavy. Mural crown Argent with three visible towers (village rank) and white scroll reading in black upper case letters "BARCO - GUIMARÃES".
Meaning:
The arms have a canting element, as "barco" is Portuguese for "ship" or "boat".

Barco Commune is one of the 48 communes of Guimarães Municipality (q.v.); it had 1430 inhabitants in 2001 and covers 2,95 km².
