Coat of arms

Shield Argent, cross fleury Gules charged with a Greek cross Argent and accompanied in base by two grapevines Purpure leaved Vert. Mural crown Argent with four visible towers (town rank) and white scroll with inscription in black initials: "CAMARATE".
Meaning:
The grapevines are symbolizing the fertility of the soil and the economic importance of viticulture. They are furthermore a canting element, A "camarate" is a temporal storage of the grapes. The cross is referring to D. Nuno Àlvares Pereira, the owner of the region, and taken from his family arms.

It is a typical Portuguese communal flag, with the coat of arms centred on a plain yellow field.

Coat of arms

Shield Vert, two fish Argent affronty, in chief the bust of a bull Or, in base a well Argent masoned black with bucket Or. Mural crown Argent with three visible towers (village rank) and white scroll with inscription in black initials: "UNHOS"
Meaning:
The golden bull is an attribute of St. Silvestris, the local patron saint. The two fish refer to the importance of fishing for the commune. The base shows a well, symbol for the many ancient Manuelian wells that can be found in the commune.

Shield Azure, a windmill's wheel Or, tied of the same and rigged Argent between two branches of olive Argent fruited Or, all ordered per fess, in chief a Marian crown Or with gemstones Vert, in base two open hands Argent in invocation. Mural crown Argent with three visible towers (village rank) and white scroll with inscription in black initials: "APELAÇÃO".
Meaning:
The mural crown is representing Our Lady of Incarnation, the local patron saint. The olive branches are symbolizing the rural character and the economic base of the commune. The millwheel is symbolizing the cultural heritage of the commune. The hands in invocation (Port: apelação) are a canting element.
