Misericórdia Commune was established in 2012 by merging of the former communes of Encarnação,Mercês, Santa Catarina and São Paulo. The new commune don't seem to have a proper logo. On its webpage instead the four coats of arms of its former communes are displayed.

Meaning:
The trumpets represent a local newspaper. Book, quinas and laurel are alluding to Luís de Camões and to "Os Lusíadas", the golden book of "lusitanity". The conch is representing the melody of the sea, perhaps the root of Fado. The purple colour is representing science, respect and concentration (literally: interior collection).

Meaning:
The sword as an attribute of St. Paul occupies the central chief point. The well is a local building also symbolizing the local riches of fountains. Waves, oars and fish are symbolizing Tejo River and the traditional, local fishing activities.
