Coat of arms

Shield Argent with base wavy of Azure and Argent, issuant from base a vessel Sable lined Argent seen from prow, two pairs of olive branches Vert fruited Sable in saltire, in chief a fleur-de-lis Purpure. Mural crown Argent with three visible towers (village rank) and white scroll with inscription in black initials "FREGUESIA DE ORTIGA".

Ortiga Commune is one of the six communes of Mação Municipality; it had 590 inhabitants in 2011 and covers 16.0 km².
