The arms are Argent, over base wavy Argent and Azure a mound Vert issuant from base wavy Argent, flanked by an ancient sword and a scimitar (falcata) both Gules set in pale and pointing upwards, in chief a tower Azure masoned Argent with port and windows Argent. Mural crown Argent with three visible towers (village rank)and white scroll reading in black upper case letters "FREGUESIA DE MONDIM DE BASTO".

Mondim de Basto Commune is one of the six communes of the eponymous municipality (q.v.); it had 3473 inhabitants in 2001 and covers 23,39 km².
