It is a typical Portuguese communal flag, with the coat of arms centred on a plain yellow field (village rank).

The arms are Gules a bridge throughout Argent masoned Sable and in chief a pitchfork and a hoe both Or and held Argent and set in saltire and in base a billet Argent set in fess. Mural crown Argent with three visible towers (village rank) and white scroll reading in black upper case letters "QUINTELA DE AZURARA".

Quintela de Azurara Commune is one of the 18 communes of Mangualde Municipality (q.v.); it had 580 inhabitants in 2001 and covers 9,85 km².
