The arms are Argent a cross addorsed Azure charged overall on its core with a sun Or and flanked in chief by two swallows Sable breasted Argent volant respectant. Mural crown argent with three visible towers (village rank) and white scroll reading in black upper case letters "ESPINHO - MORTÁGUA"

Espinho Commune is one of the seven communes of Mortágua Municipality (q.v.); it had 2797 inhabitants in 2001 and covers 41,40 km².; not to be confused with Espinho Municipality, its eponym commune, or any of the three communes and one unincorporated village of the same name.
