Monochrome Flag

It is a slightly untypical Portuguese communal flag, with the coat of arms centred on a plain yellow field, unusual insofar as colour of sheet and base colour of arms both are light.

The arms are Argent a cross Maltese Gules and in chief two apple tree twigs Vert fruited Gules and garnished Or and a base wavy Vert and Argent of four per fess. Mural crown argent with four visible towers (town rank) and white scroll reading in black upper case letters "MACEDA".
Meaning:
"Maceda" appears to be related to "maçã" (="apple"), making the arms partly canting.
