It is a typical Portuguese communal flag, with the coat of arms centred on a plain purple field (village rank).

The arms are Or a wheat sheaf Vert tied Gules between four crossbows Purpure strung and garnished Argent. Mural crown Argent with three visible towers (village rank) and white scroll reading in black upper case letters "BESTEIROS - PAREDES".
Meaning:
"Besteiros" means "crossbow archers" and therefore these arms are partly canting.

Besteiros Commune is one of the pre-2013 communes of Paredes Municipality (q.v.); it had 1412 inhabitants in 2001 and covered 2,70 km². It was incorporated into Paredes Commune.
