It is a typical Portuguese communal flag, with the coat of arms centred on a plain yellow field (village rank).

The arms are Azure a three arch bridge Argent masoned Sable issuant from a base wavy Argent charged with two barrulets wavy Azure, in chief two needles Or per saltire threaded Argent. Mural crown Argent with three visible towers (village rank) and white scroll reading in black upper case letters "TONDA".

Tonda Commune is one of the 19 communes of Tondela Municipality (q.v.); it had 1115 inhabitants in 2001 and covers 8,69 km².
