The arms are Or a mound Vert issuant from base, in chief a rounded cross patty Gules (so-called Portuguese Templar cross) between two corn cobs Or leaved Vert. Mural crown Argent with three visible towers (village rank) and white scroll reading in black upper case letters "OUTEIRO MAIOR".
Meaning:
The arms are canting, as "outeiro maior" means "larger hill".

Outeiro Maior Commune is one of the 21 communes of Vila do Conde Municipality (q.v.); it had 378 inhabitants in 2001 and covers 3,09 km².
