with the coat of arms centered on a white
and green quartered (town rank) background.

The arms are Sable a fortified tower masoned and open and litten of the Same
overgrown by a grape vine issuant from the dexter and trunked Proper and leafed
Vert and fruited Purple. Mural crown argent with four visible towers
(town rank) and white scroll reading in black
upper case letters scroll reading in black upper case letters "VILA DA
VIDIGUEIRA".

The arms are partly canting for "vidigueira" (which has no common
meaning in modern Portuguese) is vaguely cognate with grape vine.

variations: plain flags always carry the coat of arms.
