It is a typical Portuguese communal flag, with the coat of arms centred on a green and yellow quartered field (town rank).

The arms are Or five stone pine cones proper set three and two and on a pile Vert a fess wavy Azure fimbriated Argent and over it a crozier Argent. Mural crown Argent with three visible towers (village rank) and white scroll reading in black upper case letters "CAMPO - VISEU".
Meaning:
"Campo" means "field"; the arms are not canting, depicting local produce, geography and history.
