Meaning:
The word "barreiro " (plural: "barreiros ") means "clay pit" - this meaning doesn't seem to be included on the arms, which is heavy on the Animal and Vegetable Kingdoms, but shy on the Mineral.

Barreiros Commune was one of the pre-2013 communes of Valpaços Municipality; it had 177 inhabitants in 2011 and covered 7.1 km².

Commune It is a typical Portuguese communal flag, with the coat of arms centered on plain background. The arms are "Barreiros - Valpaços". The banner should have , and golden pole with spear finial..
