The arms are Azure three oak twigs Argent fruited Argents and garnished Vert per fess set in pale and in chief a mitre Or lined and garnished Gules and one a base wavy Argent two barrulets wavy Azure. Mural crown argent with three visible towers (village rank) and white scroll reading in black upper case letters "SOENGAS".

Presentation of Soengas

Soengas Commune was one of the 21 pre-2013 communes (now 16 remained) of Vieira do Minho Municipality (q.v.); it had 161 inhabitants in 2001 and covers 2,22 km². "Soenga" is an old Portuguese word meaning barren land.
