Надеждинский район

António Martins-Tuválkin, 18 Jan 2006

This is the flag of Nadezhdinskiy County (Надеждинский район) a "municipal entity" in the Maritime Territory, in Russian Far-East.

It is shown at < http://mo.primorsky.ru/nadezhdinsky/gerald.php > (link provided by Valentin Poposki on 30 Sep 2005) as a 1:2 banner of the arms (q.v.), but the law text (MZ 65 of 2002.08.21, §1.2) is adamant that the flag should be a 2:3 rectangle vertically divided in three equal parts:

собой полотнище с соотношением сторон 2:3, разделенное по вертикали на три равных полосы - темно-зеленую, темно-голубую и красную, с изображением желтого с черными пятнами, крадущегося леопарда (геральдического барса) поверх полос.

(I note also that my image is incorrect concerning the color shades, as the shade of green should be dark and the shade of blue probably also: The law text says "темно-голубую", which means something like "dark light-blue", the meaning of which is to anybody's guess.)

The coat of arms, according to the same law, is also "tierced per pale", but the image on line (and possibly the illustration annexed to the law) shows a (less heraldic correct, though better looking) design of "per pale vert and gules a pale azure". Overall, a tiger (not a tyger!) or passant.
