Flag used by the President of Sudan is same as the national flag, but with a golden representation of the national coat of arms in the white stripe. (The Arms seems to be centered in the "fly part" of the flag, i.e. in the midpoint between the top of the triangle to the fly.)

Some sources, like Flags and Arms Across the World by Whitney Smith, (1980)
[smi80],
Guide to the Flags of the World by M Talocci (1982) [tal82]
and Flags of the World by William Crampton (1990) [cra90i] show the coat of arms as
being in black. Smith shows the image with the motto and name of the
country (i.e. all script) above and below a gold rendition of the Arms. Precise
information on the detail remains speculative.

The third variant seems to have be in use recently, as seen on occasion when the
British Prime Minister, Tony Blair, visited Africa and met President Bashir of Sudan in October 2004.
A report on "The World" on BBC4 TV showed the two men in front of the Presidential flag http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/magazine/3717150.stm#.
