About the flag

The flag of the Swedish municipality of Botkyrka displays an image of St. Botvid. This medieval saint has his nameday on the 28th of July. He was killed on that day in 1120 by a former slave who he had freed by buying him from his owner.

We don't have any image of this flag on FOTW-ws. It is a banner-of-arms, showing St. Botvid in yellow on a red field, holding a white axe in his right hand and a white fish in his left hand.

Blazon
