About the flag

The official flag of Medelpad, a historical province in Sweden, is a banner of arms, just like for all Swedish provinces. The white wavy fesses are supposed to symbolise the two major rivers in the province, Ljungan and the Indal River (Indalsälven), while the red part probably is added just to give a livelier tincture combination.
