The flag and arms of Hoče - Slivnica are prescribed by Decision Odlok o grbu in zastavi Občine Hoče - Slivnica, adopted on 26 July 2000 by the Municipal Council and published in the official local gazette Medobčinski uradni vestnik
Gorenjske in Stajerske regije, No. 12. Decision Odlok o spremembah in dopolnitvah Odloka o grbu in zastavi Občine Hoče - Slivnica (text), adopted on 30 May 2011 by the Municipal Council and published on 3 June 2011 in Medobčinski uradni vestnik Gorenjske in Stajerske regije, No. 11, amends the legal prescriptions.
Regulation Pravilnik o uporabi zastav v občini Hoče-Slivnica (text), adopted on 2 March 2009 by the Municipal Council and published on 23 March 2009 in Medobčinski uradni vestnik Gorenjske in Stajerske regije, describes the use of the flag, prescribing the dates, locations and which flags shall be officially hoisted in the municipality; the European Union, Slovenian and municipal flag, as well as flags
of other organizations, may be used.
The symbols were designed by Valt Jurečič of Heraldika d.o.o. and Heraldica Slovenica, who kindly provided drawings from which the images shown on this page were made.
The flag is rectangular, in proportions 2:5, yellow with a green square field in the middle, charged with the semi-wheel and branch from the coat of arms.

The coat of arms is "Argent in base of a mount vert a wheel issuant ensigned with a branch leaved all or".
The elements of the coat of arms represent the Pohorje mountains
(green hill), the importance of the region as a road-crossing (railroad
wheel) and the nature and tradition (chestnut tree).
