Nemšová new Coat of Arms

[Nemsová new Coat of Arms] from this website, located by Aleš Křižan, 22 Jan 2001

Nemšová, (district and region Trenčín) had in its Seal its Patron Saint Archangel Michael with winged helmet, sword and scales. But the old coat of arms from Tatrarevue shows only scales and the sword. It was created as the communal coat of arms in 1981 and in 1989 when it was promoted to town the symbols remained unchanged. The new Coat of Arms of Nemšová (from an unknown year) shows interruption of that development tendency of Slovak Heraldry. It is Archangel Michael in a costume of an Roman soldier
(Argent in field Azure, decorations Or) Its helmet is winged. He holds the sword  and the scales and weighs the souls (so called "psychostatis"). The flag is still unchanged.
