The flag of Leningrad is striking. The flag was a white cloth, the
coat of arms (from the soviet time) were in the middle on this. For me
isn’t known however that the City of Leningrad had a flag. I have seen
this flag on an exhibition of socialist partner cities of Dresden, at
the beginning of the 1980-years. Next to this flag hung the city flags
of Wroclaw,
of Skopje,
Usti nad Labem,
and Dresden itself.
It was usual in the GDR to put coat of arms on a white cloth if there
was not any official city flag. Perhaps it was this case…
