House flag – rather crudely drawn – plus some information on this page. Green flag, white disk in centre bearing a large red letter "S."

A crudely drawn house flag (or flagoid) can be seen at lotusshipping.nl. It seems the info is still largely correct, except that the head office is located in Tartous and branch offices are to be found in Limassol, Cyprus and Constanta, Romania. Current size of fleet: ten vessels.
The link to a funnel pic has gone too, but here is another one.
Quite recently I have come across a Samin table flag on the Swedish Tradera auction site; still on (till 29 Jul 2007), it bears no. 45706791, offered by "Nillanalle." It is the first item found if you enter "rederiflaggor."

The parent company is Ali Samin & Co. of Tartous, Syria, with a shipping involvement from 1976. These days, according to Lloyds Groups, its shipping is handled through two subsidiaries, Tartousi Shipping Co., also of Tartous, formed 1996 and initially shown as Tartous Shipping Co. Ltd., and Samin Shipping Co. Ltd. of Limassol, Cyprus which was formed in 1983 as Ali Samin Shipping Co., changing name in 1989. In addition, although Lloyds do not show a connection, I suspect that two other companies could be connected, Tartous Shipping Co. Ltd. of Tartous and Tartousi Shipping Ltd. of Constanta, Romania. The flag may be flown by the parent company but if only connected with the shipping businesses, then judging by the funnel colours of the various companies, which all differ, it belongs to the Cypriot company Samin Shipping Co. Ltd.
