Manzini is the second largest urban area in Swaziland and is where the majority of the country's industrial facilities are located. Manzini adopted its municipal coat of arms in the 1970s and has a flag that comprises these arms in the centre of a yellow field.
The arms show a traditional African shield depicting a modern building and
traditional Swazi hut which represents industrial development and modernisation
together with the respect for traditional culture. The mielie cobs (corn)
reprints agricultural activities that are the core of the Swazi economy.
The supporters are impala and imbabala antelope and the crest is an open book to
symbolise the importance of education in this developing area. The motto,
YINKHABA, means the centre of all activities as Manzini is popularly
referred to as the "Hub of Swaziland".
