Antalya Metropolitan Municiaplity (1,041,972 inhabitants in 2011, 994,890 in the town of Antalya proper) is located on the Mediterrenean coast of Turkey. Antalya is one of the biggest tourism centers of the country with beaches, hotels and archeaological sites. It has a very warm climate, especially in summer. It is famous for citrus fruit, especially oranges. There is an annual film festival held in Antalya called "Golden Orange", which is the oldest and most important film festival of Turkey.

The flag of Antalya is white with the town's emblem, composed of the letter "a", for Antalya, with sun rays and an orange figure in the center. The figure also looks like a tree (may be a palm).

The emblem on the flag quite resembles the Turkish good luck charms that are sold all along the southern coast of Turkey and, maybe, in the rest of the country, as well. These charms are believed to protect the owner from evil ghosts; Turks wear them around the neck, on keyrings, in cars, etc.
