"It was confirmed in January, 31st, 2002 by the decision #5/1 of XXII city council session of XXIII convocation. The square crimson panel, in the center is the arms of city in cartouche, crowned by the city crown."

From Ukrainian Heraldry site:
"It was confirmed in January, 31st, 2002 by the decision #5/1 of XXII city council session of XXIII convocation. Per pale by azure and vert; reared argent horse, in the sinister corner is argent flank, punched by an argent half moon. The shield enframed by or cartouche with date 1413 and crowned by argent urban crown with three prongs. In the cartouche is beech leaves and gules flower of rue (rhododendron). The author is O.Oliynyk.
The horse is a symbol of diligence, it was used on the old arms of city. A flank with a half moon specifies a legend about woman Kitsa who has drowned the turkish soldier in a flank. Azure means rich water resources, vert means generous vegetation.

The City

From Ukrainian Heraldry site:
"The first data about it refers to 1413. It is located on the banks of Sovytsya river. City is fatherland of composer Volodymyr Ivasuk (he was born in 1949) - author of the famous song "Chervona ruta" ("Red rue"). The song - <iwasyuk.narod.ru>."
