"It was confirmed in July, 18th, 2001 by the decision of XXI city council session of XXIII convocation. A square blue panel, from the bottom corner to the top free corner goes alternately divided white-red strip (in width to 1/8 parties of the gonfalon), in the top corner is an yellow owl with the opened wings, in bottom corner are three white carps."

"It was confirmed in July, 18th, 2001 by the decision of XXI city council session of XXIII convocation. Azure; fess, alternately bend sinister by argent and gules bars. Above it is or owl with opened wings, below it are three argent carps, two above one. The shield enframed by or cartouche and crowned by argent urban crown with three prongs. The author is A.Grechylo.
The argent-gules fess symbolizes a country barrier on frontier post ("zastava") and shows one of versions of the settlement name, because city has appeared near frontier post. The owl is a symbol of small river Sovka ("little owl"). Along coast of this river is located Zastavna. Three carps and azure field characterize a plenty of ponds and fishing crafts by which the city is well-known today.
