"The city emblem under the conventional title "Gipanis" was affirmed by solution 19 sessions of municipal council 4-th convocation 141 from 04.19.2000. On a vert field rising argent horse, which arises from the wavy argent-light-blue base and maintains the character of atom in or. The horse personifies the ancient river Uzhy Buh, which in the descriptions of southern grounds by the Greek contributor Herodot is called Gipanis, that with old-Greece is translated as White Horse. The association of horse symbolics and modern atom personifies disposition of city on a reserved Uzhy Buh landscape, association of the nature with peace atom, which is for the boon of mankind. The vert field symbolizes oof of the nature, beauty and cleanness of modern city. The coat of arms is decorated by golden caurtoche in national Ukrainian style and crowned by a silver crown, which means the status of city."
