Introduction

The Bududa District is located  in eastern Uganda.  Bududa is the main commercial and administrative centre.

The Bududu King is Joseph Washitwaya Kanyanya (alias Wash), H.R.H. the Umukhungu Bukusu of Ibududa, who was sworn in on the 11th Aug. 2012.

There is another king of this clan.  He is Wilson Weasa Wamimbi, H.R.H. the Omukuka of Bududa (born in 1938 and formerly High Commissioner to Canada).  He was sworn in in August 2010.

Both live on the western slopes of Mount Elgon in south-eastern Uganda.

Bududa Kingdom flag

The flag of the Bududa Kingdom is a horizontal bicolour of dark-blue over yellow, with the  a white disc charged with the Arms in the centre.

The Arms comprise a brown bird with head turned upwards and to the right, with an orange "bar" at the top superimposed over crossed swords in saltire, surmounted with a continental-type crown. Below is a green compartment with a white motto ribbon with a black inscription.
