According to www.townofmonument.net,
"The beautiful Town of Monument is located about twenty miles north of Colorado Springs and about fifty miles south of Denver, Colorado. Monument was incorporated June 2, 1879 after many years of settlement by farming pioneers, mostly from Iowa."
The page at www.ourcommunitynews.org/v8n4.htm reports the town now has two flags - the old one which was designed in 1870 (I believe this is typo and should be 1970) and the new one from 2008. The board determined that the old and new flags should be displayed prominently in the new town hall building. The new flag is simple logo on white background. Both flags can be seen on this photo.
