Description of the flag

The flag is a red saltire on dark blue with the county seal at the center.

Pierce County, Georgia was created in 1857. The parent counties from which Pierce County was organized from were Appling & Ware. The county seat is Blackshear. The first U.S. Census for this county was begun June 1, 1860, and finished June 27, 1860. This census showed a population of 1,973, Blackshear's portion of these being 319. In 1870, Pierce County had 2,778 population, and 490 were living in Blackshear.
