Description of the flag

The flag is white, with the village logo placed in the center - a black and white tree without leaves emerging from a local scene, and a red-green border all around the flag.

The text states Lake Barrington, Illinois, Established 1959.

According to the History section of the village website, the Village of Lake Barrington was officially incorporated by referendum on 31 October 1959. There's also a short article on the website talking about how the village celebrated "its 50th Anniversary" in 2009, reinforcing the 1959 date and leading me to believe that's probably the year highlighted on the flag.

Officials at Lake Barrington village have replied to let us know that the year is indeed "1959". They added that this had been the standard flag for the Village, not a special jubilee flag. It had been in use since more than ten years ago.

However, they also added that they now have a new flag. It was redesigned because Lake Barrington has a new logo. (We've been promised a photograph if the wind conditions are right.)
