Description of the flag

A white background with a broad blue curved band across it, representing the Cane River Lake, so named on the flag.  Various emblems are placed on the flag: Northwestern State University logo, a fleur de lys, a string of lights ("City of Lights") and the Kisatchie National Forest logo. Above is written the parish name, and below on a gold ribbon "Oldest Settlement in Louisiana Purchase" and below that "Louisiana".
