Description of the flag

The city of Ontario (5,303 inhabitants in 2002; 28,300 ha) is located in Richland County, north-central Ohio. In the "News Journal", 16 May 2008, Lou Whitmire reports the adoption of the flag of Ontario as follows:

The flag has a gold city seal centered on a dark blue background. Mayor Ken Bender presented the Ontario flag design to council. Police officer Adam Gongwer, a graphic designer, assisted with the design.

Additional historical data on the city are given:
"It was incorporated as a village Aug. 21, 1958, by Ohio Secretary of State Ted Brown.
