Description of the flag

The flag of the Appomattox County, Virginia, was designed by Glenn Duff. His design was winning upon contest that was idea and carried by Committee of Extension Homemakers. The County Board officially adopted the flag 18.04.1978.

The flag has a blue background with yellow border. In the center is yellow map of Virginia, and county seal over it. Arched above is "APPOMATTOX COUNTY" and below "HEART OF VIRGINIA" in smaller letters, both inscriptions in black.
