Description of the flag

The NAVA image at www.nava.org/.../Olympia.jpg and shown in American Flag Survey and American City Flags is a ~2:3 white flag with a horizontal elliptical logo on the hoist side and lettering on the fly side. The logo shows the Olympia Capitol building (headquarters of Washington State government) in a stylized landscape with greenery in light and medium green, medium blue river and sky, and white mountain with black shadows in the background. The lettering is set in bold serif letters and says "City of" in italic style above "Olympia" in small caps.

It should be noted that the logo shown on the flag is not in current use by in the city website and possibly anywhere else, rather a different permutation and rendering of the same elements. See: www.ci.olympia.wa.us/.../City_Logo_vertical_blue_300dpi.gif
