City of Sumner, Washington, now has a flag. See the story here: www.pnwlocalnews.com/pierce/bch/news/96001824.html
"Sumner will soon be flying its very own flag, thanks to the work of several volunteers and communications director Carmen Palmer, who designed the flag. The flag, which features a daffodil and a piece of rhubarb, is being revealed in the
parade of flags at the Association of Washington Cities conference in Vancouver from June 23 through June 25. Colors of the flag are yellow, white and red, appearing in horizontal bars. "There's actually an outline of the daffodil on the gold bar," Palmer said. An earlier version of the flag, presented at a study session to members of the city council received some suggestions for improvement. Among the concerns was the coloring on the flag. "It's much brighter colors now, there is a brighter version of the green, gold and red," Palmer said. She said the new version contains the same colors, but reflects Sumner more closely. "You still see a flag in colors, but if people look closely, they'll see the reason for them.""
