Alpha Kappa Lambda was founded at the University of California at Berkeley in 1914, the first national fraternity to be established on the west coast. Its flag is a horizontal bicolor, gold over purple, with the fraternity coat of arms centered on the top half and the letters of the name in gold on the bottom half.
