Yesterday, I drove past The Diamond, the professional baseball stadium in the city of Richmond. The stadium is home to the city's minor league AA affiliate of the San Francisco Giants, the Richmond Flying Squirrels. The Diamond is also used by the Virginia Commonwealth University baseball team. I noticed that they were preparing for the beginning of the college baseball season. In addition to the American and Virginia flags, a VCU flag was flying atop the stadium. The flag appeared to be black, bordered in gold, with the university logo in the white and gold centered on the field. I know VCU has a multitude of additional sports flags, most of which also double as banners, featuring the university's initials and mascot (VCU Rams). This was the first I had seen, though, that actually looked like a flag instead of a banner adapted to a vertical flagpole.
